"Aurtengo udazkenean, 2008, txalaparta ikastaroa egitekoak gara Londreseko Euskal Etxeko egoitzan. Ikastaroa arratsaldean egingo dugu lanegunez, betiere larunbateko aukera zabalik utzita. Iñaki Lopez de Luzuriaga txalapartaria arituko da irakasle bi orduko workshopetan hiru hilabeteko iraupenaz.
Landuko ditugu ttakuna, ttukuttuna eta horiei lotutako konbinazioak, eta horretarako Londreseko Euskal Etxean moldatu dugun txalaparta erabiliko dugu.
We are arranging a txalaparta workshop this autumn 2008 at the venue of the Euskal Etxea in London. The workshop is to be held in the evening on workdays, while Saturdays are open to schedule too. The course will be conducted by txalaparta player Iñaki Lopez de Luzuriaga in two hour workshops due to last for three months.
Ttakuna, ttukuttuna and related combinations will be dealt with, using for the purpose the txalaparta set we fashioned with so much care in the Euskal Etxea.
Txalaparta (pronounced cha-la-PAR-ta):

It’s an ancestral percussion instrument played by two, who beat their sticks on the boards arranged horizontally at a roughly thigh high. Although in the old txalaparta fashion the device was kitted with one or two wooden boards, the instrument has grown ever more complex in materials and variety. The players try new combinations and patterns, while struggling to keep up the balance (more info in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Txalaparta)"
